About
Feelin’ Moody is artist FatMoody’s debut project. Released summer of 2020, Feelin’ Moody was a kickstarter for FatMoody’s musical career, garnering over 66,000 streams across all streaming platforms. The two singles for the album “Lonely Soul” and “Over” set the precedent for the album, each sitting at over 20,000 streams a piece on Spotify alone. Each of these singles got music videos, which helped push the album forward. This musical project represents over a year’s worth of work, both on the artist’s side and on the production and marketing side of the creative process.
My Contribution
I played a large role in the creation of this project. FatMoody is a fully independent artist, and all of his music is produced by me under the stage name “Bond.” and two others (Dez Forman and Stoney). We all work well together, and even when someone doesn’t work on a song, they still offer constructive criticism and help with marketing. On this project I produced and co-produced five of the eight tracks on the project. These tracks consist of Swimming in Emotions, Lonely Soul, Pressure, Never Leave, and Stargazing. I also helped the artist write & record demos for all of the songs. The songs were rerecorded and mixed in a professional studio, but there are versions of each song fully recorded and engineered by myself. A distinct memory I associate with the album is making the instrumental for Lonely Soul with my two co-producers. FatMoody then quickly laid down the chorus of the song and I gave it a rough mix. The next day, we brought the song to the studio and made the final version. Seeing how something started from scratch can turn into a final product, let alone a successful product, in such a short time was extremely inspiring and fulfilling. I also helped sequence the track list. There were songs made for the album that were left out because they felt like filler. We voted only to keep the absolutely necessary songs in hopes of creating a more cohesive listening experience. I gave FatMoody my idea of what the final track list should be, where each track fit into its own place and the progression of the album felt like a smooth listening experience. This is the track sequencing that was released with the album. Lastly, I shot and edited most of the promotional material for the album and merchandise that came with it. With the help of my sister, I also designed the merchandise for the album. Feelin’ Moody is very much so FatMoody’s album, but everyone who worked on it played an integral role in the success of the project as a whole.
